Use of this teleconverter will transform a 400mm f/2.8L lens into a 800mm f/5.6L lens or a 70-200mm f/2.8L into a 140-400mm f/5.6L lens with the same minimum focusing distance.
Kenko Teleplus PRO 300 DGX 2x AF Teleconverter enables full autofocus (AF) functioning with lenses having a maximum aperture of f/2.8 or brighter. Having 2x magnification, the Teleplus PRO 300 is constructed of 7 multi-coated elements in 4 groups and allows a depth of field 1/2 of the paired lens used while retaining the the original lens’ minimum focusing distance.
The Teleplus PRO 300 DGX also has genuine Gate Array IC, which means that not only the converter’s own data but all data sent from the camera body provide full exposure metering and electronic flash photography. This new DGX Teleplus converter also has an updated circuitry to record exif data more accurately. In the exif exposure data (meta-data recorded with a digital picture), DGX converters record the equivalent aperture and focal length of the lens setting plus tele-converter.
